Would you rather live in Baghdad or Atlantic City?
Which is the worst city?
For many years I have thought Compton was one of the worst places to live. But I might be wrong here.

A new housing development in Baghdad, Iraq
Baghdad, Iraq
Population: 7 Million give or take a few hundred thousand or so that may have been killed during and since “Shock and Awe”
Worst Feature: Car Bombs (not the drink)
Best Feature: Sometimes your kids can still get free Hershey Bars from American Troops, before getting their arms and legs blown off by Improvised Explosive Devices
Despite the rhetoric form George Bush, Dick Cheney, John McCain and others in the current administration, or the sunny reports on FOX news – Baghdad is still quite an unsafe and none-to-pleasant place to live. Rape and murder are rampant, even by those that are supposed to “Protect and Serve”.
As recently as March 2007 a 20-year old married Iraqi woman said Police Commandos took her from her home, for allegedly aiding insurgents. The woman says she was detained and raped several times by 3 members of the police force. Meanwhile, dozens still die every week in bombings and other attacks, there are mass detentions of innocents, many still go without adequate plumbing and electricity, and people have taken to burying their valuables in various locations to keep other Iraqis and even allegedly, American troops, from stealing them. According to the Washington Post’s Baghdad Bureau Chief, mortar shells still fall regularly in the supposedly safe “Green Zone”.
At least two Americans have died there in recent days, and the U.S. Embassy has just revised it’s policy, and is advising all staff to wear their protective armour and helmets outside at all times. On the other hand it may still be safer to live in Baghdad then it is to go on a hunting trip with Vice President Cheney.

We know how to party in Atlantic City
Atlantic City, NJ
Population: 40,000
Worst Feature: Gang Violence, Slums, Donald Trump
Best Feature: Legal Gambling, Prostitution
Despite the introduction of legalized gambling and Casinos on the boardwalk, that were supposed to lead to a renaissance for AC, it remains a stink hole.
The Casinos have done little or nothing to improve the slum conditions of the surrounding area. Since the cities decline that began soon after WWII, before the Casinos, in the 60’s and ‘70’s the only visitors to AC were, either “poor, black, elderly or all three” – now they are its primary residents with drug and rat infested tenements often existing right beside or behind multi-billion dollar casinos.
Visitors are advised not to wear jewellery even out on the Boardwalk, and not to stray to far from the resort areas. With the accompanying crime and prostitution that gambling invariably brings, many think that the Casinos have down more to kick the cities downward slide into overdrive then help pull it up.
Even gamblers hate the place, one said “it’s cold, it smells, most f the table games suck, and to top it off I can’t stand Trump and I hate seeing his name all over the place”
Where would you guys rather live?
