VERSUS!: The 9th Doctor vs. the 10th Doctor
At the end of this month a new actor will take over the roll as Doctor Who, so lets take this time to look at the current and his predecessor in an effort decide which one we preferred.

To start off, for those of you who have little or no idea what the title or teaser of this post are referencing I’ve taken the following from Wikipedia:
Doctor Who is a British science fiction television programme produced by the BBC. The programme depicts the adventures of a mysterious alien time-traveller (called a Time Lord) known as “the Doctor” who travels in his time and spaceship, the TARDIS, which normally appears from the exterior to be a blue 1950s police box. With his companions, he explores time and space whilst facing a variety of foes and righting wrongs. The programme is listed in Guinness World Records as the longest-running science fiction television show in the world.
So now that we are all on the same page, let us first take a look at the 9th Doctor played by Christopher Eccleston. He was the Doctor for only one season, but was the face of the revival of the series in 2005. And all though his role was short lived, many including myself were introduced to the show with him as the lead.
The 10th Doctor is currently played by David Tennant who has had a much longer run in the roll, a full three years. For this reason alone many feel him to be the better Doctor of the two. In fact he was voted as the number one Doctor of all time with 25.64% of the votes this year in Doctor Who Magazine. And yes, I’m just as shocked as all of you that there is a Doctor Who Magazine.
Finally, I’m going to provide you with the end of the first season where the 9th Doctor becomes the 10th.
So this is a really tough call, we now need to make a choice. The 9th or 10th? The 9th did get me into the show in the first place, and while Eccleston was fantastic as the Doctor, I think I am going to have to pick the 10th. Tennant brought something to the character that Eccleston never had and while perhaps I wouldn’t be making the same choice if Eccleston had more then one season, that is something we will never really know. Now its your turn, who do you choose?

Tenth…. however, It's not fair to compare the Ninth and Tenth Doctors, as the Ninth only served for such a short time. It's more reasonable to compare the Tenth to one of the longer-serving Doctors like the Fourth or Fifth.
I'm very excited to see what the Eleventh Doctor is going to bring to the table.

The new 11th Doctor certainly looks the part. But he'll def have some very big shoes to fill.
BTW, now that David Tennant is free from doing Dr. Who can Christopher Nolan please cast him as teh Riddler now?

I think that we can't really compare them. One was The Doctor fresh from war, having lost his people and his planet and the other is a man who has been saved by a shopgirl from London. Nine changed into Ten because of Rose, otherwise he quite possibly could have been a crotchety old man (a la 1) or a grumpy whacked out color blind fool (like 6)
Can't wait till the End of Time (Wilf! The Master! Donna! ::excitement::)) After the Waters of Mars though I truly hope RTD gives us at least a LITTLE glimpse of the happy!Doctor rather than Emo!Doctor.
Looking forward to 11, I've seen Matt Smith in some other things and he's a decent actor, it's certainly going to be interesting. BUT, I'm not so much looking forward to Moffat, I don't like his characterizations of the Doctor, I feel that he tends to act really out of character (I.E. Girl in the Fireplace, which the rest of fandom seems to wet their pants over. He LEFT Rose an Mickey to die. Wtf. The Doctor wouldn't do that, I'm sorry.) Moffat is great for one line quotables, but for characterization and overarching plots (BadWolf, VoteSaxon etc) RTD is the MAN.
