VERSUS!: Thanksgiving Battle Royale…
It’s your call this time around. What are your favorite Thanksgiving side dishes?
As we give thanks this Thanksgiving, it’s easy to go straight for the turkey, or even a bigger side dish like stuffing or mashed potatoes. But we’re talking about the REAL side dishes that make the world go round. The ones that might even be only unique to your family.
They can often be disgusting, tacky, or even surprisingly delicious to the point where you wonder why you don’t make it more than once a year.
Sides like green beans, marshmallow sweet potatoes, and fried broccoli may not suit everyone’s taste, but they may suit you, goddammit and that’s what you are fighting for today.
Even add-ons like cranberry sauce, h’orderves, and hot apple cider count. After all, perhaps your Thanksgiving wouldn’t be complete without them.
Or maybe you are one of those weird families that likes to make oatmeal laced with stuffing, everything Au-Gratin, or just plain fry everything
No two thanksgiving meals are the same. Down south the sides are made up of soul food, on the coast it’s comprised of seafood, in big cities it’s a bunch of stuff from cans that came from a factory.
So where do you allign? What are your favorite side dishes for Thanksgiving? Think you have one we’ve never heard of yet? Duke it out in the comments.
