Think about it.
Fashions and trends come and go, but the 1980’s never left. Why is that?
Even children who were born in the 90’s are all about the 80’s now.
We even have shows like We <3 The 80’s !!
I guess the music was cool:
Ozzy, Ramones, Queen, Cure, David Bowie, Styx, U2, Journey, Blue Oyster Cult all had albums come out. The official Blues Brother’s Soundtrack came out too. Hair Metal was born. Iron Maiden, Metallica, Guns N Roses…too, Poison, Motley Crue, and Bon Jovi. Pop had a good time too, Michael Jackson reinvented himself, Madonna came out, Stacy Q, The Bangles. Hip Hop became big with the help of Beastie Boys and Run DMC… alright 80’s, you won this round. There is no arguing the music.
The fashionistas in the 80’s mimicked the styles of the movies and musicians, which is always a trend in mainstream culture, but lets take a look at these people.
There were the Valley Girls, inspired by… Valley Girl. Big glasses, little poofy skirts, oddly bright plastic accessories…
