Saved by the Bell- The Movie?

On my way home this morning, I was listening to a local radio station called 103.5 KTU (www.ktu.com). They were talking about old television shows that were made into movies.

They brought up examples like The Hulk, Get Smart, Transformers, X-Men, Sex and the City, The Dukes of Hazard, etc. One of the Dj’s said, “I would like to see Saved by the Bell turned into a movie.” Then the wheels started turning. This is who I would cast in Saved by the Bell: The Movie.

Our beloved heartthrob Zack Morris would be played by then none other than Zack Efron. He captured hearts playing in Disney’s High School Musical. We all know he can sing, but I am dam sure that he would be able to freeze time and give us a piece of his mind.

Hayden Panettiere would be cased as Kelly Kapowski. This Hero’s star was in movies at a very young age including Remember the Titans. You know, the cute little daughter of the Assistant Coach who knew everything about football? She would look great next to Zack Efron.

Let us cast another High School Musical member and have Ashley Tisdale play Jessie Spano. It’s only a matter of time before this teenager gets into drugs. Let’s test her out and see how well she can sing “I’m so excited” for Zack so we all know what she’ll be like in 5 years from now.

Jackson Stewart, who played Hannah Montana’s brother on her television show would be cased as Screech. Common, look at him? Need I say more? Just picture a curly black wig on him and I think we’ve got magic!

Raven Symone would play Lisa Turtle. If you ever watch the Cheetah Girls or even That’s So Raven, she always has funky outfits on. All we gotta do is change her character name and she’s got the role. I hope Bill Cosby won’t ask for royalties.

AC Slater will be played by another High School Musical cast member, Corbin Bleu. We’ve seen his basketball moves in the movie. You think he can wrestle?

And just for a kicker, let’s cast Paul Giamatti to play Mr. Belding. We’ll have to put lifts in his shoes though.
