My Problems with Buzzfeed: Inaccuracy

Buzzfeed is a great frickin’ website. BUT it’ typically finds a way to piss me off about once every other week. Let’s look at an example of it’s inacuracy.

As a preface, I really, really, really like Buzzfeed. What Buzzfeed does is it takes content from sponsors, partners, editors and gives it to you, the viewer, in a pretty and easily digestible way. The content is “viral” so that means it’s popular in the websphere (different than the “web-o-sphere” as websphere implies that the web is a sphere, not a buzzword utilizing the connotations of the word “atmosphere”).

With that said, I have a number of issues with the site, so I’ve decided that every time I get upset with them, I’m going to call them out.

(Note: I am not going to throw stones in a glass house, every website [including this one] has flaws, but Buzzfeed has a lot of the web’s best talent behind it, so I hold them to a higher standard.)

Today’s issue: Inaccuracy

Today  I was browsing the site, looking for some hysterical content to share with you all and I cam across this: Beaver Pees on Morning Show Host. NO! NO. DON’T CLICK THE LINK, I’m getting to it.

a- Watch this video. It is a video of a Beaver supposedly pissing on a Host.

As you can see, there was no piss. IF ANYTHING the beavers tail was wet and some water flew off as he wagged it. Either that or CBS is desperately trying to get a web following as “The station with hosts that get pissed on”

b – look at the post, which I have conveniently screenshotted (word?) for you, from Buzzfeed. (you can click it for a larger, possibly easier to read version)

I’m gonna just quote it one more time for those who want the full effect.

“Beaver Pees On Morning Show Host: In her face, to be exact. This is actually 100% safe for work. CBS, your go-to source for PG Morning Show Bukkake.”

ummmmmmm I get that you don’t wanna scare any people off with a NSFW banding but this, or any of the zillion animal peeing clips on youtube are hardly NSFW. Also, Bukkake? BUKKAKE?

DO YOU EVEN KNOW WTF BUKKAKE IS? SERIOUSLY? (if you don’t know, google it, with safesearch OFF)
