This afternoon I was checking my Twitter account (just like I do every 15 seconds) and my timeline was BOMBARDED with tweets from Emilio Sparks chatting it up with a TON of @ replies. Take a look at his profile from the time: (click the images for the full size)
WTF!!!?!??! This is not what twitter is for, right? To get a better grasp of my feelings, take a look at my screen:
So I decide to Tweet about it.
Ha Ha Ha, Funny, cute joke. I figure that, at best, Emilio would include me in the fun public convo (that’s similar to someone shouting into their phone in a public place.) Turns out, the worst happens, he SHUTS ME DOWN.
This reply assumes two things;
1 – that Twitter is the new AIM. It’s not. AIM provides the ability to have a one on one private convo with people across the globe. Twitter is a pool of people attempting to be cute in front of their followers. DIFFERENT THINGS.
2 – that no one uses AIM. THIS IS WRONG! 53million user world wide? Who is your fact checker?
I have very few rules I hold dear on twitter. One is to only follow people I know in real life, the other is to never stop following those people. Mr Sparks, You brought this upon us both.
Notice, Mr. Sparks, I’m still following DAN of all people!
It’s okay though, I still love you man. I’m not trying to put you on blast. But it’s not like you’ll miss me though, Mr. Celebrity, you have like 970 followers, what’s the loss little ol’ me?
