How Come: Scrooge McDuck Doesn’t Die When He Jumps In His Pool Of Gold Coins?…

About 20 seconds into the opening to DuckTales (video below) Scrooge McDuck does something un-fucking-believable. He actually jumps into a room filled a story high with gold coins, head first no less, and DOESN’T crack his skull open.

Now I can believe that a rich duck and his nephews can solve mysteries and hunt for treasure and fly planes and go into outer space and all that. That all seems very likely from rich, white, Anglo-Saxon Protestants ducks.

But to jump into, essentially, a stonewall of currency as thick as a metal floor when stacked by gold and NOT die a horrible death that makes others question the price of having too-much money is just bonkers.

So what say you? Do you feel Scrooge McDuck should have died in the Ducktales intro? Think he should still be risking his life diving into pools of hard currency? Or did you end up watching the DuckTales intro a million times and now can’t get the jingle out of your head?
