Back in November of 2002 a quirky little MTV show took the place of the recently canceled Family Guy in the hearts of thousands of cartoon fans across the globe.
The shows premise was simple, “What if all of the greatest men and women in the history of the world were cloned and forced to go to high school together?”. Clone High, followed the exploits of young JFK, Ghandi, Cleopatra and Joan of Are as they went through their awkward stages together, in the early 2000s.
In a word, it was genius. Hell, it even featured the voice work of a young Will Forte (photo), Christa Miller (of Drew Carrey Fame), and Nicole Sullivan of Mad TV. It was able to obtain fucking guest voices from Zach Braff, Marilyn Manson, Michael J. Fox, Jack Black and John Stamos. JOHN STAMOS!!! The soundtrack featured the likes of Taking Back Sunday and The Get Up Kids!! OMFG Awesome! It was funny, it was unique, and it was controversial.
An ad in Maxim Magazine depicting Mahatma Gandhi in a negative manner initially sparked controversy, which led to a greater awareness of the show in India and sparking an outrage in that country. On January 30, 2003, the 55th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination, approximately 150 protesters (including members of parliament) gathered in New Delhi and vowed to fast in response to Clone High. What I’d like to know, is how come it was canceled? How could a show so good, so well written, so AMAZING be canceled? Even more important How Come repetitive shit like family guy can be risen from the dead, and original shit like clone high just wallows in internet obscurity?
Lets take a look at Clone High’s Pilot Episode “Escape to Beer Mountain: A Rope of Sand”:
It’s sooooo good. Fuck. I don’t even want to argue about it, if you don’t think it’s good then you can go screw. It’s canceled, no more new episodes. In the words of Principal Cinnamon J. Scudworth, Ph.D “When life gives you lemons, you clone those lemons and make SUPER lemons.”
The show is online on youtube. But because I love you, i’m going to give you every second of Clone High goodness, right in this post. Oh, and there is still no word on why it was actually canceled, fucking plutocrats.
Fun Fact@dapsdamian and I once planned on making our own DIY Clone High DVD. (Because we are supernerds)
“Episode Two: Election Blu-Galoo”
“A.D.D.: The Last ‘D’ is for Disorder”
“Film Fest: Tears of a Clone”
“Sleep of Faith: La Rue D’Awakening”
“Homecoming: A Shot in D’Arc”
“Plane Crazy: Gate Expectations”
“A Room of One’s Clone: The Pie of the Storm”
“Raisin the Stakes: A Rock Opera in Three Acts”
“Litter Kills: Litterally”
“Snowflake Day: A Very Special Holiday Episode”
“Makeover, Makeover, Makeover: The Makeover Episode”
“Changes: You got a Prom with That?”
In closing: Mr. Butlertron rules and ABE LINCOLN EATS BABIES!!

Thank you thank you thank you for this post.
makeover, makeover, makeover, makeover, makeover, makeover, MAKEOVER!!!
idk why it got canceled but they didnt make dvd box version sets because of all the licensing rights or whatever for all the music that they used. i’ve had this conversation with many of my friends before bc this topic saddens me very much. as does no more daria.
There is a bootleg dvd floating around my circles.
I just think everyone left this show so they can make Scrubs…you can blame Scrubs for why this show was canceled
Smulligan: You’re very Welcome?
totalawk: I hear they made a DVD box set in Canada. The Canadians are not afraid of Dashboard Confessional.
Drew: Too bad scrubs started a year before this premiered… maybe they would have left scrubs for clone high?
Doesn’t mean you still can’t blame Scrubs……………Wesley
