Goodnight Sweet Prince: Walter Cronkite (1916-2009)…

Walter Cronkite passed-away last night at the age of 92. Let’s all remember him fondly, shall we?

Old Man Cunfuz'd???

Walter Cronkite, best known for playing Ben Franklin on the PBS cartoon “Liberty’s Kids,” passed away at the age of 92.

Cronkite’s role on this seminal PBS cartoon launched him into a late-blooming career as a news commentator; Acting as an old-stallworth in the news industry, commenting on the events of American history (past and present), despite never having been a news anchor himself.

With the news industry so factioned-off these days with young, hip anchors like Sean Hannity and Keith Olbermann, it is hard to even imagine Cronkite getting a fair shot at a news career.

I guess now we’ll never know how Walter Cronkite would have fared as a news anchor.

you're an idiot. walter cronkite was a leading news anchor on cbs from the 60's to the 80's. he was one of the best known in america. if you think "liberty's kids" is what he was best known for, you've been living under a rock.
by the way i gotta say liberty's kids was awesome.
