Four Year Strong Explains Clarissa and Other 90s Stuff

Meet Four Year Strong, a pop punk outfit from Worcester, MA. The quintet combines the aggression of hardcore punk with a penchant for tugging at your reminiscent heartstrings. BTW FYI, dudes can really shred. Their 2007 release ‘Rise or Die Trying‘ featured song titles representing different movies the band members love.

“Wrecked Him? Damn Near Killed ‘Em!” – Men in Black II
Heroes Get Remembered, Legends Never Die” – The Sandlot
“If He’s Here, Who’s Runnin’ Hell” – Van Wilder
“Abandon Ship or Abandon All Hope” – Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
“You Ego is Writing Checks Your Body Can’t Cash” – Top Gun
“Can You Blow Me Where the Pampers Is?” – PCU
“Angels With Filthy Souls” – Home Alone
“Angels With Even Filthier Souls” – Home Alone 2: Lost in New York
“Sparkle Motion” – Donnie Darko

also

“Vash: the Stampede” – Trigun (which is on an album called Its our Time)

For the followup to RoDT, Four Year strong decided to do the cover album thing a la, MxPx and New Found Glory. Inspired by the Seven Days track Absolutely (Story of a Girl), their set of covers is comprised of all songs from the 90s. The album titled ‘Explains it all‘ is a reference to the popular Nickelodeon show Clarissa Explains it all starring Melissa Joan Heart (WAY COOL, ALRIGHT ALRIGHT!).

Check out this Documentary about the making of ‘Explains it all’:
