Eminem has a new video (which inspired me to watch the old ones)

Have you ever heard a new song or watched a spankin’ new video from an artist you really like, only to have it disappoint you?

We’ll that is what happened to me here: (be patient with the ad at the beginning, besides i really want Bertolli now)

What I find kindof strange is that every time this occurs I find myself on a gold rush for all of that artists old good material. In the case that any of you are like me, here is some good old fashioned eminem on his very own youtube page.

What do you think? Does the new song live up to old em’s standards? Did you not care the first time?  I need to know DAPS…

  1. I vote it’s a return to form. Def better than “Crack a Bottle” but can never top the old stuff.

At the end of the day, it’s miles ahead of where current popular hip-hop is.

Then again, what is that really saying?

  2. cool video. Dre as captain of the enterprise is pretty sweet. ff ad blocker blocked the commercial ftw!

  3. i like the video a lot more than i like the actual song.

  4. the only thing new from Em this time around is a bit more playfulness with his flow, but the constant need to reference pop culture with little to no insight just makes me sad. nothing will top the Slim Shady EP and his 2 tracks on the 8 Mile soundtrack.

Also: All of Eminem’s best verses actually come from his guest appearances on other tracks and B-Sides.

  5. @Vin, it’s just as shitty as current hip-hop.

  6. This song irritated me on the first listen and grew on me a bit the second but ultimately I think it’s forgettable.

Comedy troupe ElephantLarry best summed this up on their blog:
“Eminem is the Disaster Movie of music”

  7. I agree with Carlo. It seems like the only way people will buy his shit is when he references pop culture and makes fun of celebrities. What the fuck man? You are terrible, get over yourself. The rap world was a much better place when you weren’t signing.

@MightyVin, ‘Crack a Bottle’ is way better than this song. If he would keep doing songs like that, I would respect him more as an artist. His act is getting real old real quick.
