The weekend box-office estimates are in and Disney’s “A Christmas Carol,” starring Jim Carrey, took the top spot with $31m in ticket sales.
Analysts are predicting a good, slow-burn for “Carol” as boosts are expected around Thanksgiving and through to the Christmas season.
Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” dropped to #2 this week with $14m in ticket sales. This brings it’s domestic gross to a 2-week total of around $57m.
Rounding out the top five are “The Men Who Stare At Goats,” “The Fourth Kind,” and “Paranormal Activity.” All grossing less than $15m each.
On a sad note, “Couples Retreat” is due to break the $100m mark this coming week.
Weekend Box-Office (Domestic):

2: This Is It- $14m
3: The Men Who Stare At Goats- $13m
