The fast paced world of tablet computers is one that is in constant flux. While the big boys, here in America are merely playing catch-up with the iPad, the international market is much more diverse. But don’t think for a second that these markets don’t know about Apple’s offering.
This crazy advertisement from Taiwan for the Action Pad shows just how crazy the Tablet Market can be. It also depicts an Asian Angel Steve Jobs.
Holy crap what that mortifying.
As expected, Apple fanboys are all a tizzy over this ad, and are calling for the boycott of Action Electronics, but being that they re Apple fanboys, would they even consider purchasing their products anyway?
When asked about the commercial, Action Electronics responded as such:
“We praise Jobs… Jobs has done great things, and we also want to do the same… We are not trying to use his death, this is not meant to make fun of Jobs.”
Let’s face facts people, Asian culture just thinks differently of death than us Americans do. While everyone in Taiwan is probably laughing their asses off at how clever this ad is, a bunch of 18-35 year olds who buy overpriced computers here in America freak the hell out. I mean, it’s really a case of tomato/tomato, which I’m now realizing doesn’t translate well s a metaphor in writing.
If you ask me, I have no problem with the ad. I think it’s funny, you people shouldn’t take such things so seriously.
