So I’m About To Take You Guys On A Trip. Are You Ready For It?

So I’m about to take you guys on a trip. Are you ready for it? It’s the trip I take from Staten Island NY, to a wonderful playground known as Atlantic City, New Jersey. For those of you who aren’t familiar with ‘AC’, it’s sorta like a mini version of Las Vegas. Not as many hookers, wedding chapels and super stars, but it’s close enough.

The trip is a long one. From just about anywhere on my lovely island, it’s about 108 miles, which without traffic, is close to a 2 hour drive. What the hell are we going to talk about? I usually make a mix cd to prepare myself for the adventure. I pop it in the second I hit the Garden State Parkway because it’s a straight road from there.

 

When I finally arrive, there’s no question that we are going to the hotel. Which ever one I choose to stay at. If it’s a large group of people, the cheapest hotel will do, due to the fact that about 8-10 people are going to split the cost of this $150 room for the night. It’s basically a place to get dressed and keep your crap in. Who the hell wants to carry a pocketbook around? Not I. It is also the best place to get hammered before your adventure begins. Pictures are taken and fake names are given out to each of the girls for unexpected guys who decide it’s a good idea to hit on you after they have had 5 drinks.

Then we are off after a quick check in the mirror. It’s down to the hotel lobby to call our asses a cab that will take us to the famous Casbah night club which is located in the Trump Taj Mahal. It’s where the drinks are $8 a pop. Make sure you have money on you, because their ATM fee is $6.50. It’s a meat market for the fake named girl who is looking for a one night stand. If your into the clientèle there of course. Depending on the night, there are usually a good about of bro’s (which are those fist pumping, sun glasses on at night, spiky haired, big muscles, fake tan boys we have all come to love), and nerds who are in desperate need to get laid. Don’t forget to say hello to my girlfriend Penny. She’s the grandma walking around sipping on the ginger-ales that everyone buys for her. She is a famous face, make sure you take a picture!

Dancing around getting drunk all night sounds fun, but it’s time to head back to the hotel room to get dressed and try your luck at the slot machines, I’m a sucker for Wheel of Fortune. I either loose all of my money or break even. If your not the gambling type, just sit there and pretend your playing because a lovely young woman will eventually make her way over to you asking you what you want to drink, which is free. If you give her a good tip, she’ll be back around sooner and bring you a larger glass. Eventually, she’ll get the point and just bring you one every time she makes her round.

Then off to sleep for the driver. You’ll need as much as you can get because you know the girls you are with in the hotel room aren’t going to keep their mouths shut all night due to the fact they will talking about their hook ups from the club.

And then it happens, you realize that check out time is by 11AM and your cell phone says 10:30AM. What the hell do we do? Most of the cheaper hotels will let you stay an extra hour later if you call down to the front desk. But the major hotels, you have a better chance hitting the jackpot on your first spin at the slots on the way out.

You pack your shit in the car and pull out onto the Atlantic City Express way and make our way back to the Garden State Parkway, that is going to take me the hell home to sleep. And even though you didn’t have that much of a fun night, you all say that you can’t wait until the next time you go. DON’T LIE!
